Is there a disease that causes bad body odors?
Cause we have an employee…sweet person but she smells pretty bad.
Many diseases cause bad smells; infections, gum disease, but most often, the source is usually the mouth, underarms, genital area, or feet.
Most of these odors are avoided by good hygiene: bathing daily, using shampoo and soap; brushing teeth twice per day, seeing a dentist regularly, flossing and using mouthwash; and laundering clothes regularly.
Many people fail to do these simple things.
If it’s bad breath, allergies that dry the mouth and cause mouth breathing can lead to chronic bad breath. Smoking and bad tooth care lead to bad breath and abscesses of the gums, more bad smells. Genital infections and incontinence lead to bad smells. There are all kinds of bad smells.
A “dirty laundry” greasy oily smell is usually due to failure to wash clothes regularly.
A dirty hair smell accompanies greasy hair.
A putrid (dead animal-like) sweetly-sick stench is often an infection.
An acrid (sour-bitter-metallic) smell is usually rank sweat from lack of wearing deodorant and showering regularly.
Some people grow up rather neglected and never learn about handwashing, regular bathing or hygiene. Don’t assume she knows about this.
