Phsyical Anthropology question/opinion: Human Body odor in the past vs today …same appeal?
Today when someone with bad underarm odor(the onion type) is nearby, many object to the smell even if it is your friend, mate, or spouse. We know that perfumes were used long ago by royalty ( perhaps to counter act with the odors?). But what about in the beginning of mankind. Would a male or female have been attracted to the odor possibly having a positive /pleasant or exciting attitude towards the odors that we today cannot tolerate? How has mankind developed through the thousands of years in regards to this and if there has been a change over the years, how recently or how gradual has mankind made an effort to become more aware of personal hygiene with respect to body odors.
In those days, human beings were all natural and had pleasant body fragrance because they ate “natural” “uncooked” “floral” “food” only upto their hunger. But, now-a-days, there is yelp of indigestion one side and yelp of hunger on the other. Notice that only gluttonous fellows only emanate badly and not optimum ones!
