Are there any other anti-psychotics?
that is a mood stabilizer and sedative apart from Olanzapine. I came off Olanzapine because it was causing too much weight gain and I was also sweating lots on my face.
I was put on aripiprizole but this anti psychotic does not have a sedative effect and I am finding it hard to sleep at night.
I have asked my psychiatrist if he can change the anti depressants that I am on to a anti depressant which will make me sleep at night and he said no you can only go back to taking Olanzapine but he already knows that it causes me weight gain and excessive sweating
So this is why I am asking if there is any other anti-psychotics that does the same job as Olanzapine but not cause weight gain or excessive sweating and I also need one that will make me sleep at night..
Thats a hard one. If you want to stay slim you are really going to have to work at it. That means eating a healthy diet and exercising. Seroquel is sedating and seems like a good choice, but you would have to work at the weight.
