I found a lump in the armpit and now need a needle biopsy …?
I found a hard mass over the size of a pea in my armpit right yesterday (Sunday). It is not painful or anything, but went to see a doctor this morning, who said it was probably a blocked sweat gland or something, but then he had a look and said it was something that no obstruction of the sweat glands, etc and I'll need a needle biopsy. Should I worry? I'm in the west of Scotland. How long should I wait to do a biopsy and how long the results?
Hi Lou, please do not worry if they thought it was something serious, or they did the biopsy, then or reserved for another appointment in 48 hours. It's probably just a swollen lymph node. They are all over the body, armpits, groin, neck. Their job is to get rid of poisons or toxins that can accumalate in the body. Sometimes they swell themselves can sometimes be the result of or cut any point anywhere on your body that was infected. You'll be fine! Boris
