why do most people like spicy foods?

i don’t get it. it burns the tongue, causes alot of head sweating, overpowers the flavors of food, and sometimes hurts. what is the charm of spicy foods, especially those that like it really spicy?

I eat hot sauce on everything I eat. I love jalapenos, and habaneros. I never have a problem with it hurting. Also I dont think it overpowers your food. Some people just have different tastes. Like me I hate fish. Alot of people love fish.
